Sheffield, October 26, 2011. Two of my very best friends trying to get their Russian homework out of the way before heading out to the pub. And failing to do so, clearly ;-)

So, I went to see von Trier’s ‘Melancholia’ the other day, and it is beyond all doubt a brilliantly beautiful film. I loved to be able to hear Wagner’s prelude to ‘Tristan and Isolde’ so clearly in the cinema (it is a lovely piece). The cinematography of it was stunning too. Von Trier has finally made a film that I actually enjoy. Beats ‘Antichrist’ any day!

I had a brilliant weekend this weekend: I went to see Pulp in London (supported by Grace Jones, who still looks incredible at 63) and took a trip to Cambridge too. Pulp were amazing, Jarvis Cocker is still as beautiful as the last time I saw him. He mentioned Sheffield, as that’s where they come from… my boyfriend and I were happy about that because we both go to the University of Sheffield. London was lovely, and so was Cambridge, and here’s a nice picture I took of the show Pulp put on when they sung Common People.
